  3. Files supplied with the DOS version of FAMILY TIES are
  4.         FT.EXE         FTINSTAL.EXE      FTDEMO.EXE       FTREADME

  6.         PRINT.CTR      NAMES.DA1         USER-NO.EXE      UPDATE.BAT

  9.                        To make a NEW DATABASE:
  10. If you have a HARD DISK:
  11. Copy all the files to a subdir (FAMTIE?) with     COPY A:*.* C:/V
  12. or
  13. for 1 or 2 FLOPPY DISK DRIVES:
  14. First format 2 disks and place system files on them using FORMAT B:/s
  15. The batch file COPYPROG.BAT will copy the files used to run FAMILY TIES onto
  16. one disk and the ask you to change disks for the DEMO/DOC files.
  17. With the MASTER disk in A: and the formatted disk in B: enter   COPYPROG<ret>

  19. MANUAL  This  is the documentation for the FAMILY TIES program.(20 pages).
  20. First turn on your printer and print the manual by entering the following: 
  21.                 TYPE MANUAL^P<ret>
  22. ^P = press the CONTROL and P keys together,  <ret> is the RETURN or ENTER key.
  23. when the printer is finished type ^P to turn off the listing to the printer.

  25. UPDATE.DOC  - instructions for updating prior FAMILY TIES databases.
  26. FTDEMO.EXE is the tutorial - learn how to use FAMILY TIES by entering:
  27.        FTDEMO<ret>
  28. FAMILY TIES program - NEVER try to install the original disk.  ALWAYS make
  29. a copy first -    Write-protect your MASTER or original disk.
  30. FTINSTAL is the install program for FAMILY TIES and this program will erase
  31. many of the files on the disk being installed - see WARNING page 3 of manual.
  32.  To print this file, turn on your printer and enter:     TYPE README^P<ret>
